A Few Updates...

Yesterday marked one month until my due date which I cannot believe. These months have flown by. A little part of me is going to miss being pregnant. I will no longer have Charlotte all to myself or feel her sweet movements throughout the day. But of course, I cannot wait to meet this little lady and see who and what she looks like. I know our lives will never be the same and we cannot wait to embrace this next chapter in our lives.

Jason and I went to a 2-day parenting course this past weekend that the hospital does. I wasn't really looking forward to it but ended up really enjoying it! It was a good group and our instructor was fantastic. She was funny and brought a much needed sense of realism to what we will soon be experiencing. One thing she kept saying is your baby will have no clue if you are screwing up...something I am going to keep in mind if and when I do!

Next week during our 36 week appointment we get to see Charlotte again and make sure she is doing okay! I can't wait to hear how big she is. During our last US at 33 weeks she was weighing about 4.5 pounds so hopefully she has grown a bit.

We are also getting new carpet in the entire house next week. No way was I going to put a baby on our carpet...it was gross. Once that is done we will be able to finally get the nursery completely done. We are almost there but have been delaying things due to the carpet. I promise pics once its done!

Hope everybody has a wonderful Memorial Day :)

Work Shower

We are very lucky that (almost) every day we enjoy going to work. The main reason is due to the fabulous group of people we work with. Not only are they our co-workers, but they are our friends. The ladies that I work with threw us a wonderful shower. We got many of our "big ticket" items (pack & play, high chair, exersaucer) plus lots of essentials (diapers, wipes, bottles) and could not be more grateful.

Gifts and more gifts! One of our co-workers had a beautiful blanket made for us.

Skelley Family Shower

The other fabulous women in Jason's life threw us a great family shower. Kristy did a killer job with the cute decorations and activities for the kiddo's. The food was delish-ice cream and cupcakes...how can you go wrong? Plus, we received lots of great things for Charlotte too!

Activities for the kids (and adults)! White onesies and plain bibs everybody decorated with markers and cute iron-on's. It was a great idea!

Our adorable nephews Carter and Daniel. We learned that balloons can provide hours of entertainment.

More gifts!

Thanks everybody! Charlotte is one lucky and loved little lady :)

Couple's Shower

Our best friends in Atlanta, Holly and TJ, threw us a wonderful shower! We invited all of our long time ATL friends and had a great time catching up with everybody. One of my favorite gifts was a picture book that Holly put together called "Welcome to our Lives." It had pics of our life prior to Charlotte arriving and she had all of our friends write notes to her in it. Many pictures were quite increminating and C will have to wait until she is 21 to look at it but I know she will enjoy seeing how much fun her ole Mom and Dad used to be :)

The loot!

One of Jason's favorite childhood possession's was a giraffe named Jerry. Jason's mom spent hours in their basement searching for Jerry and finally found him! Now Charlotte will have one of her Daddy's favorite toys. In addition to Jerry, she got a whole bag full of adorable giraffe dolls and outfits :)

Charlotte's first (and not last) Juicy Couture outfit. Thanks Aunt Holly for starting her early!

My sister-in-law Megan and I. She is due with her 2nd baby (a girl!) at the end of August. Charlotte and baby girl Perrer are going to be BFF's!

Even though Holly promised no games, Jess decided to invent her own and we ended the night with "Can you pick up (insert object) with your foot." Thats what happens when you have a baby shower + non baby drinks!

I finally decided to do this thing!

I have tossed the idea of having a blog back and forth for a while now, especially with our new addition on the way. On one hand I knew this would be the perfect place to share pictures and memories for our family and friends that live in other states but on the other hand I wondered if I would actually keep it up. I love looking at other's blogs so I figured it was my turn to give it a shot! Thus, another blog is born.

Just to catch you up, we have a little girl due in less than 2 months! We are very excited and can't wait to meet little baby Skelley. We are also very nervous as neither of us have much (any) experience with babies and are a bit overwhelmed. However, I know everything will work out in the end because it always does!

Please enjoy following along with our lives as we embark on this exciting new adventure.
